I am a family doc because I love directly caring for my patients, and the long-term relationships that we develop. I believe that these relationships allow me to do my job better, because I have an understanding of where my patients have been and what they want for their future.
I always enjoyed pregnancy care and working with children, but once I had a child of my own, working with young families became a great passion of mine! I am enjoying nurturing my own family right alongside of my patients; experiencing those first stressful fevers and colds together has kept me very in tune with the needs of kiddos and parents. I also see my role as a health-coach and cheerleader – I want to help my adolescent and adult patients make good choices to stay healthy and prevent disease, and when sickness does come, I am there to help navigate options and support them on the road back to health. I want to be there for you and your family as you plan for what may lie ahead.
Growing up in a community-minded family that valued helping other people, I knew at an early age that I wanted a career that would allow me to care for others. In high school my strong interest in science and encouraging teachers became major factors in my decision to enter medicine as a career, and after completing a summer internship at OHSU my fate was sealed! My medical training began at Loma Linda in California; I then enjoyed residency at Providence Milwaukie and was able to spend several years working for Providence Medical Group’s Cascade clinic before joining NW Primary Care in 2015.
